Altri titoli: The concert
Trama: Un osannato direttore d'orchestra dell'orchestra Bolshoi di Mosca viene allontanato in epoca comunista per essersi rifiutato di licenziare i musicisti ebrei. Venticinque anni dopo l'uomo lavora ancora in teatro come custode e aiuta la moglie a movimentare finte manifestazioni d'orgoglio ex-comunista. Un giorno intercetta un invito per il teatro Chatelet di Parigi e decide di riscattarsi dalle umiliazioni con l'inganno, accettando l'ingaggio al posto dell'orchestra ufficiale. Riunisce così i vecchi compagni di concerto e qualche improbabile new entry. Commedia grottesca e liberatoria, tra vecchia Urss e Tchaikowski liberatorio, dall'autore di Train de Vie.
Sinopsys: A celebrated conductor of the Bolshoi Orchestra in Moscow loses his post during the Soviet regime when he refuses to fire his Jewish musicians. Twenty-five years later, the man is working as a custodian in the same theatre and helps his wife organise mock demonstrations of communist nostalgia. One day he intercepts an invitation for the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris and decides it is time to bluff his way to a comeback. He agrees to do the concert meant for the official orchestra and rounds up his old orchestra buddies as well as a few hilarious new entries. A liberating comedy of the grotesque, part-U.S.S.R and part Tchaikovsky the 'soaring spirit', from the director of Train de Vie.
