Trama: Francia, seconda metà dell'800. Hervé Joncour è un giovane soldato sposato con Hèléne Fouquet. Il padre lo spinge a rimanere nell'esercito, ma Hervé riceve un'interessante offerta dall'imprenditore Baldabiou, che cerca di far rivivere gli antichi splendori della città riaprendo le fabbriche di seta. Hervé deve viaggiare fino in Giappone per comprare le uova di baco da seta più pregiate al mondo. Là inizia il suo commercio con Hara Jubei, potente e riservato capo di un villaggio, e nel suo palazzo rimane folgorato dalla bellezza di una misteriosa Ragazza, con la quale stabilisce un muto ma profondo legame erotico. La crescente passione mette in pericolo tutto il suo mondo.
Sinopsys: France , second half of the 1800's. Hervé Joncour is a young soldier married to Hèléne Fouquet. He father urges him to stay in the army, but Hervé receives an interesting offer from Baldabiou, a businessman hoping to revive the town's golden age by reopening the silk factories. Hervé is to travel to Japan , in order to buy the world's most prized silk-worm eggs. Once there, he begins trading with Hara Jubei, the soft-spoken but powerful head of a village, whose residence holds a mysterious Girl. Her beauty bewitches Hervé, and the two forge a wordless but deep erotic tie that threatens the Frenchman's entire world.
