Trama: Andrea è un bel giovane, intelligente, uno che sembra avere tutti i numeri per riuscire nella vita. Ma l'impatto col mondo lo ha fatto precipitare in uno stato di smarrimento. In cerca di un nuovo equilibrio si sottopone al noviziato per l'avviamento al sacerdozio. All'interno dell'ampia comunità religiosa Andrea scopre un mondo che va oltre il silenzio e la preghiera. Il monastero diviene, per lui, un misterioso universo, un luogo dove i novizi vengono esortati a denunciare reciprocamente le proprie debolezze. L'attenzione di Andrea si concentra su Fausto tormentato e sempre imbarazzato a parlare davanti agli altri. Andrea è anche scosso dagli incontri con il ribelle novizio Zanna, che accusa il sistema del noviziato e la stessa Chiesa di sfruttare la parola di Dio per acquisire potere e influenza. Confrontandosi con lui, Andrea comincia a dubitare profondamente della propria fede...
Sinopsys: Finding himself in an existential crisis, Andrea decides to join a monastery. The young man embarks upon a novitiate. As the priests instruct him in matters of belief, Andrea discovers that there is more to the religious community of priests, monks, novices and retired clergy than silence and prayer. The monastery becomes a universe, in which every look and every sound seems to suggest intrigue, since the novices are asked to point out any weaknesses they are able to detect in the others. To him, his life of prayers, rituals and hours of reading is characterised by constant surveillance and continuous questioning. At the same time, the novices do their best to abandon themselves, and by so doing, find their way to God. Yet, in spite of considerable support from the abbot, Andrea fails this mystic test of his true belief, and decides to put the order behind him...
