Trama: Italia oggi.
Sinopsys: Two young brothers, Cosimo and Elia, ambitious building contractors, arrive from Rome to a remote village in the Tuscan Appenines, on contract to refurbish the villa of a large landowner who was also once a popular singer, Fausto Mieli. Mieli, who had retired to the village about a decade earlier and is both admired and hated by the local community, has scheduled his return to the stage for the end of the week. Meanwhile, the clumsy and unconsciously arrogant behaviour of Cosimo and Elia annoys the villagers and breaks out into outright hostility with the local men, while Adriana, the belle of the village, invisibly but relentlessly attracted to Elia, dreams of running away with him. The conflict ensuing after the arrival of the "strangers" produces terrible and unexpected consequences in the lives of all the villagers.
