Trama: Roberto Spaventa ha assistito da bambino ad un omicidio consumato in un teatro da un suo compagno di scuola, che lo ha traumatizzato. Dopo 25 anni egli ritorna in quel teatro che deve riaprire e rendere funzionale per il compleanno della sua vecchia zia, che lo ha nominato suo erede. Si allestisce l'"Amleto" per l'inaugurazione del teatro e, contemporaneamente, inizia una serie di omicidi. Per Roberto è un nuovo trauma; egli si improvvisa investigatore ed a lui si uniscono Pino, un vecchio compagno di scuola, Francesca, una giornalista e Tiziana, la prima attrice giovane. La sera della prima, utilizzando lo stesso stratagemma dell'Amleto, i nostri riescono a smascherare l'assassino. Roberto ritrova la memoria persa col primo trauma, riconosce il colpevole, che nella sarabanda finale, confessa e muore in duello. A casa della zia si festeggiano il successo dello spettacolo e due fidanzamenti.
Sinopsys: In the local theatre, as a child Roberto Spaventa witnessed a murder committed by a schoolmate, a fact which traumatized him for the rest of his life. Twenty-five years later he returns to the same theatre which he is to re-open and start running again, for the birthday of Roberto's aunt, who has named him her heir in her will. For the inauguration the local theatrical company is to perform ."Hamlet", but during rehearsals a series of murders cast a terrible shadow over everything. This means a fresh trauma for Roberto, but nonetheless he decides to undertake investigations aided and abetted by his old schoolmate Pino, a journalist called Francesca and Tiziana, the company's leading lady. On opening night, using the same ruse as Hamlet, the four friends unmask the culprit. Roberto whose memory comes back to him, recalling the crime he witnessed during his childhood, recognizes the murderer, who following an exciting chase, confesses and is killed in a duel. Back home, in the old aunt's house, there is a party to celebrate the success of the play and two engagements.
