Trama: Il corpo di Simone Basevi, 72 anni, professore universitario, sopravvissuto all'Olocausto, giace sfracellato nel cortile della sua casa a Venezia. La figlia Micòl, dopo 25 anni di lontananza, torna a Venezia per i funerali e cerca di capire perché suo padre si sia ucciso. Leo Steiner, ebreo ucraino e grande amico di Simone, la aiuta a ricostruire la figura del padre. Micòl scopre è stato ucciso, e che la sua morte dipende da un fatto accaduto venti anni prima. A malincuore Leo fa ascoltare a Micòl la voce del padre che si accusa dell'uccisione di Hans Muller, ex vice comandante del campo di sterminio di Birkenau. Seguendo una traccia, arriva a Merano, dove vive Wolf Kormendi, figlio di Muller, responsabile dell'assassinio di Simone e di altri suoi amici. Micòl sta per ucciderlo, ma interviene Leo Steiner, che la convince a consegnare l'assassino alla giustizia.
Sinopsys: The body of seventy-two year old Simone Basevi, a university professor who survived the Holocaust, lies shattered in the courtyard of his house in Venice. His daughter Micòl, after 25 years abroad, returns to Venice for the funeral and tries to find out why her father committed suicide. In reconstructing the figure of Simone, she is assisted by Leo Steiner, a Jew from the Ukraine and a great friend of her father's. Micòl discovers that her father was killed, and that his death was caused by an event that took place twenty years before. Regretfully, Leo lets Micòl listen to her father's voice. He accuses himself of the killing of Hans Muller, ex commander of the extermination camp. Micòl, following some clues, arrives at Merano, where Wolf Körmendi lives. He is Muller's son and is responsible for the murder of Simone and of some of his friends. Micòl is about to kill him, when Leo Steiner intervenes. He convinces her to hand the man over to the authorities.
