Trama: Il capofamiglia, Gennaro Stummolo, ambisce a diventare "cittadino del Nord", sottoponendo sé stesso e la recalcitrante sorella ad una lunga teoria di test ed esami imposti dall'amministrazione padana. Nella sua delirante ambizione ha perfino modificato il proprio cognome da Stummolo a Strumm. L'assistente sociale incaricata di seguire i progressi di civilizzazione della famiglia Strummolo, viene colta, nonostante la superiorità di razza, da insana passione per il ruspante e meridionale fidanzato della padrona di casa.Quest'evento scompiglia le illusorie speranze del protagonista e le certezze della mediterranea sorella, così come le deliranti teorie secessioniste che hanno dato luogo alla creazione di questi lager " c' a pummarola".
Sinopsys: Gennaro Stummolo, born in the Southern Italy, aspires to become a "Citizen of the North" by taking, together with his recalcitrant sister, a long series of tests and examinations required by the administration of his town in the Po Valley. In the course of this obsessive quest, he even changes his last name from Strummolo to Strumm. The social worker assigned to monitor the progress of the Strummolo family towards civilisation is overwhelmed, despite her racial superiority, by an insane passion for the rough-hewn, Southern Italian fiancé of Gennaro's sister. This development wreaks havoc with the unfounded hopes of the hero of the story, as well as on the firmly grounded beliefs of his Mediterranean sister, not to mention the fanatical secessionist theories behind the creation of these "spaghetti sauce" lagers.
