Trama: Francia 1912. Nella fonderia di una città del nord lavorano come operai Horty e sua moglie Zoè. Horty vince il premio al concorso annuale di resistenza organizzato dalla fonderia. In palio c'è un biglietto di andata e ritorno per andare a Southampton ad assistere alla partenza del Titanic. Nell'hotel a Southampton conosce un'affascinante donna di nome Mariè che gli chiede ospitalità. La mattina successiva Horty scorge la donna sul ponte del Titanic. Di ritorno nella sua città Mariè diventa l'oggetto di racconti commoventi e sensuali: il giorno del naufragio del Titanic il nome di Mariè non figura nella lista dei sopravvissuti: è morta. Un giorno un uomo di nome Zeppe che dirige un teatro ambulante specializzato nelle rappresentazioni delle grandi catastrofi, ingaggia Horty che si ritrova a recitare sul palcoscenico provocando fiumi di lacrime e applausi fino al giorno in cui tra gli spettatori appare Mariè.
Sinopsys: France, 1912. Horty and his wife Zoé work in a foundry in the north of the country. Horty is the winner of the yearly endurance contest organized by the foundry management. The first price is a round-trip ticket to Southampton to watch the departure of the Titanic. At the hotel in Southampton Horty an attractive woman, Marie, who ask him to be his guest for the night. The morning after, Horty sees the woman on the deck of the Titanic. When he goes back to his town, Horty can't help telling everybody about his sensual and moving encounter with Marie. The day the Titanic is wrecked, Marie's name is not on the list of the survivors: she is dead. One day, Horty is hired by a man, Zeppe, who manages an itinerant theate specializing in performances of big disasters. Horty's performances win the applause of the audience and move his public to tears until the day Marie appears.
