Trama: Anni '30 in un ambiente operaio.Elisa è la moglie di Gilles. Gilles lavora agli altiforni, alcune volte di giorno, altre di notte. Elisa si occupa dei bambini, della casa e vive ogni giorno in attesa che torni Gilles. Victorine è la sorella di Elisa, lavora da poco tempo in un negozio in città e viene spesso a trovare sua sorella per giocare con i bambini e dare una mano...Elisa aspetta un bambino. Delle strane idee le passano per la testa. Gilles e Victorine, Victorine e Gilles...Ma no, sono solo idee malsane. L'umore di una donna incinta alle volte è un po' strano. E poi un giorno, una sensazione, una certezza si abbatte su di lei, insopportabile: sicuramente tra Victorine e Gilles sta accadendo qualcosa. Allora comincia una strana lotta interiore, fatta di coraggio, di abnegazione, di silenzi. Per ritrovare ciò che ha perduto. Per ritornare ad essere la moglie di Gilles.
Sinopsys: It's the 1930s and Elisa, who is married to Gilles works at the blast furnaces. Sometimes she works by day, others by night and when she's not working she looks after the children and the house and waits for Gilles to return. Victorine, Elisa's sister, works in a shop in the city and often comes to her sister's to see the children and lend a helping hand. While Elisa is pregnant, she starts to get strange ideas about Gilles and Victorine but she tries to brush them away. It may be because she's pregnant and full of hormones but one day she hits upon the certainty that there's something going on between her husband and sister. She is overcome by an internal conflict which is full of courage, negation and silences. All she wants is to get back what she has lost and just be Gilles' wife again.
