Sinopsys: Dante, a very shy young man, is the driver of a mini-bus which takes a group of children suffering from Downs syndrome to school every day. Used as he is to being a loser in matters of the heart, he is overwhelmed when he meets Maria, a beautiful, cultured, wealthy and mysterious lady who literally falls into his arms. He joins her in Sicily, where she lives, in a lovely villa in Palermo. Maria lives here with her uncle, a rather clumsy lawyer. In the villa there is also another person. He is called Johnny Stecchino and he lives a kind of voluntary "exile" in the basement. His name is due to the fact that he is a returned "Yank" and that he is always seen with a toothpick stuck between his teeth. Johnny is very different from Dante who, however, is his exact double physically. Dante does not realize what is going on all around him or what exactly is happening in the villa. He is deeply in love with Maria to such an extent that he does not realize that he is being made a part of an intrigue. When he goes back home he will still be under the illusion that he has been through a romantic experience.
