Sinopsys: The director of "Nikita", Luc Besson, writes that "this film is the story of a person who's committed an irreversible act and who tries to get out of it, get up again, start all over again and keep on going. Unfortunately we're continually faced with the results of our actions in life. And no one is ever really able to start all over again." "Nikita is a film set against a black background. After the series of "Blue" films, I really wanted to do a "black" one. What I like about films that are known as "film noir" is the lack of scruples in the main characters: for them, death means something different, they're not afraid of anything - not of taking their own lives of that of other people's. It was Anne Parillaud who inspired me to make this film. I saw her as mysterious, secretive, she gave me the desire to create her past... I was on an airplane somewhere, listening to Elton John's song "Nikita" on my Walkman on cassette. And on that airplane, listening to that song, I imagined woman who had that same name."
