Trama: Anni '60: una partita a carte per stare insieme. Ogni giovedì quattro amiche si raccontano amori e tradimenti, teorizzando la maternità, la vita e i problemi del matrimonio. Litigano, ridono, parlano con complicità e un po' di cinismo. Trent'anni dopo: le figlie si ritrovano al funerale di una delle madri. Sono le stesse bambine che, durante le partite a carte, giocavano nella stanza accanto. Come le loro madri, si confidano sogni e paure, il tempo che passa, il rapporto con il lavoro, il desiderio di maternità. Sono passati decenni ma l'identità femminile sembra inalterata, nonostante la carriera e l'emancipazione; essere donna significa oggi come allora energia, allegria, fatica e dolore.
Sinopsys: The 60's: a card game to spend some time together. Every Thursday, four girlfriends reveal their loves and betrayals, exchange their thoughts on children, life and marriage. They argue, they laugh. They are supportive and cynical. Thirty years later, their daughters attend the funeral of one of the mothers. These were the little girls who played in the next room during the card games. Just like their mothers, they talk about their dreams and fears, the passing of time, their jobs and their wish to have children. Decades have passed, but the female identity seems unchanged. Despite the careers and the newfound freedom, being a woman is still all about energy and joy, toil and pain.
