Trama: Roma, 476 d.C. L'Impero romano è in pericolo. Dopo 500 anni Roma, che al massimo del suo splendore dominava il territorio che andava dalla Mesopotamia alla penisola iberica, dal Reno all'Egitto, assiste alla cattura del giovane Romolo Augusto. Alla vigilia della cerimonia che deve incoronare imperatore il dodicenne Romolo Augusto, arriva a Roma il generale barbaro Odoacre per trattare con Oreste. Odoacre chiede l'Impero romano come equa ricompensa per il suo decennale sostegno alle legioni romane in Oriente. Ma Oreste rifiuta. Il giorno dell'incoronazione, quando tutta la popolazione si raduna per assistere alla cerimonia, Ambrosino, lo sciamano mentore e tutore di Romolo, presagisce il pericolo. Oreste è preoccupato per l'incolumità del figlio e incarica Aurelio, il comandante della quarta legione, di fargli da scorta personale. Quella notte stessa Aurelio e i suoi legionari devono affrontare Odoacre, tornato a Roma con il suo esercito. Con un rombo assordante i barbari assalgono la città...
Sinopsys: Rome, 476 AD. The Roman Empire is in danger. After 500 years, Rome, whose rule, at the height of its splendour, stretched from the Mesopotamia to the Iberian Peninsula, from the Rhine to Egypt, must fear for the capture of young Romulus Augustus. Just prior to the coronation of twelve year-old Romulus Augustus as Emperor, the Barbarian general Odoacre arrives in Rome to negotiate with Orestes. Odoacre considers the Roman Empire a fair reward for his decades-long support of the Roman legions in the East, but Oreste refuses. On the day of the crowning, with the entire population gathered for the ceremony, the soothsayer Ambrosinus, mentor and tutor of Romulus, foresees the danger. Worried for his son's safety, Orestes calls on Aurelius, commander of the fourth legion, to serve as Romulus's personal escort. That very evening Aurelius and his legionnaires must face Odoacre, who has returned to Rome with his army. With a deafening roar, the barbarians assault the city .....
