Trama: Un gruppo di giovani che vive in una delle tante isole dei Caraibi sente quel luogo come una prigione senza opportunità. Il loro desiderio di evadere ed il bisogno di scoprire cosa c'è al di là dell'oceano, li spinge ad acquistare una barca, il «Last Cut»,che servirà loro per fuggire verso una nuova esistenza. Alla vigilia della loro partenza, all'insaputa di tutti, un uomo si presenta sul molo e riesce a farsi ingaggiare come marinaio, offrendo il suo lavoro in cambio di un passaggio. I ragazzi accettano, ma quello che non sanno è che quell'uomo è stato il proprietario della barca e su quella barca, dieci anni prima, in stato di ubriachezza ha ucciso sua moglie. Per quell'omicidio è stato in carcere ed ora, sul Last Cut, vuole ricostruire, attraverso brandelli di ricordi, ciò che accadde veramente quella notte. Il viaggio si trasforma lentamente in un dramma dove ognuno tenta di salvare se stesso e la propria verità. Una traversata tragica ed emblematica.
Sinopsys: The story takes place in on one of the many Caribbean islands. A group of young people living on the island feel that it is a prison without opportunities or a future. Their desire to get away, their curiosity about another life and the need to discover what is on the other side of the ocean, leads them to buy a boat, the 'Last Cut', on which they will escape to another existence, without telling anybody about it. On the eye of their departure, a man comes to the wharf and manages to be hired as a sailor, offering his work in exchange for his passage. The youngsters accept, but waht they do not know is that the man was once the owner of the boat and that, ten years before, he had killed his wife on it in a fit of blind drunkeness. He has been in prison for the murder and now, on the 'Last Cut', he wants to reconstruct the bits and pieces of memory that remain of what really happened that night and what the alcohol has always hidden from him about that tragedy. The journey is slowly transformed into a drama where each of the crew-members attempts to save himself and his own truth. A tragic and emblematic crossing.
