Sinopsys: In the center of a large lagoon on the coast of Sicily is the island of Mozia, a mysterious place where the only inhabitants are Iano, watchman of a villa, and his beautiful daughter Iola. Iano the watchman jealously guards the ancient treasure of the villa's museum, which belongs to an eccentric Englishman who discovered a buried Phoenician city at the beginning of the 1900s. In particular, Iano keeps an eye on a priceless marble statue of a Greek god. A young man from a town on the coast, loiò, enters the villa one night and steals the objects that adorned the ancient tombs to sell them to a cynical aristocrat, Prince Manfredi. One day a new man arrives on the island - Antonio, an escaped convict looking for a hiding place. He is discovered by Iano, who decides to help him. Iole falls in love with him and breaks off her relationship with Ioiò, who's been in love with her for some time. But Antonio, working for the prince, tries to steal the statue. Ioiò warns Iole just in time to reveal the trick, and wins her love back. Iano, paying for his incredible effort with his life, carries the statue away from the museum and the thieves, and bringing it back to the sea.
