Trama: Un boss di New York esce di prigione. Ad aspettarlo c'è il suo fidato braccio destro. Contemporaneamente gli altri suoi "tirapiedi" "agiscono" in diverse zone della città uccidendo altri delinquenti, come segnale di ammonimento: il "Re" è tornato. Con questi "modi decisi" in pochi giorni, riesce a riprendere il controllo della città, soprattutto sul traffico della droga, ove impera il "Crack". "Il Re di New York" è un uomo duro e spietato, ma, che quegli anni passati in carcere lo hanno fatto diventare anche un filantropo, tant'è che, grazie ai suoi soldi "sporchi" riesce a tenere aperto l'unico ospedale di Harlem - dimostrando un amore per la gente di colore. Ma un suo "leccapiedi", quando tutto sembra andare bene, lo tradisce consegnandolo alla polizia, la quale ormai fuori di senno, adotta gli stessi sistemi del "Re". Durante una lunga "guerra" notturna, a base di mitra ed esplosivi, anche il "Re" troverà la morte, quasi contento di aver spezzato la catena verso il male...
Sinopsys: The gangster, Frank White, released from prison, goes back to the Bronx, to the slum area where he grew up. His great dream is that of re-opening the big hospital there for the people of the zone. With the help of his faithful friend Jimmy Jump and of his own band, he manages to get his hands on the local drug ring and eliminate his rivals. With the help of a famous singer he manages to re-open "his" hospital. The press now calls him "The King of New York". The police are already on his tracks and soon surround the place where he is having a meeting with his band. During the fight the band is decimated. Jimmy Jump, too, dies. To revenge the death of his friend, Frank kills Lieutenant Bishop's right-hand man, then he captures Bishop himself, ties him up and threatens him. But Bishop manages to free himself. He follows Frank and catches up with him in the Underground. During the shooting that follows Bishop is killed, Frank is wounded. He is hunted down by the other policemen. Dying, he is taken to the Bronx where he falls to the ground and dies, as a group of curious children looks on. |
