La trama

"Il Gemello" è il nomignolo di Raffaele. Ha ventinove anni e due fratelli gemelli. È entrato in carcere all´età di quindici per aver rapinato una banca, da dodici vive li dentro. Raffaele non è un detenuto normale, ha carisma e gode di grande "rispetto" da parte degli altri detenuti. Il carcere circondariale di Secondigliano (Napoli) è la sua casa, lì, in quel luogo di dolore, vive con il suo compagno di stanza Gennaro; coetaneo e condannato all´ergastolo. Con lui lavora alla raccolta differenziata dei rifiuti e grazie a questo lavoro mantiene la sua famiglia d´origine. Raffaele ha un rapporto speciale anche con Niko, il capo delle guardie carcerarie con cui parla e si confronta. Niko sta cercando di introdurre nelle sezioni carcerarie che dirige regole più umane e attente all´individuo. Il film è un viaggio all´interno dei luoghi fisici e dell´anima di Secondigliano, dagli spazi angusti delle celle, al parlatorio in cui si incrociano le esistenze dei tre protagonisti tra piccoli e grandi avvenimenti.

Sinopsys

"The Twin" is the nickname of Raffaele. He is twenty-nine years old and two twin brothers. He has been in prison since the age of fifteen for having robbed a bank; twelve people live inside with him. Raffaele is not a normal inmate; he is charismatic and has a lot of respect from the other inmates. The Secondigliano penitentiary (Naples) is his home; in this painful place he lives with his roommate Gennaro who has the same age as him and is sentenced to life. Together they work at waste collection, and thanks to this job he is able to support his family. Raffaele also has a special relationship with with Niko, the head of the prison guards with whom he speaks and confronts. Niko is looking to introduce more humane rules in the prison. The film is a journey into the physical locations and the soul of Secondigliano, of the cramped cells, of the visiting room where the existences of the three protagonists meet through small and big events.
